House of Reps Adjourns Plenary in honour of late member, Yaya Tongo
The House of Representatives resumed plenary on Tuesday after its annual parliamentary recess, but adjourned sitting until Wednesday, following a brief valedictory session in honour of the late lawmaker, Yaya Bauchi Tongo, who represented Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency of Gombe State.
Members observed a minute silence and extoled the contributions of the late Tongo, before the House adjourned as a mark of respect.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives is billed to hold its third annual open week from the 14th to 16th of July, 2026.
The open week will feature a National Security Roundtable focusing on state policing as well as a national dialogue on reserved seats for women and persons with disabilities.
The House will also hold a Business Breakfast aimed at strengthening collaboration between the legislature and the private sector.
