Another 83 Nigerian returnees from South Africa

Another Eighty-three Nigerians have returned home from South Africa
The return comes amid concerns over anti-foreigner protests in that country in recent months.
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs says, the returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos aboard a South African Airways flight from Johannesburg.
The Ministry clarified that they were accompanied by two officials from the Consulate-General of Nigeria in Johannesburg.
Receiving them on behalf of the Federal Government was the Director of the African Affairs Department, Ambassador Haruna Ali-Gombe.
The Ministry noted that the repatriation was made possible through flight tickets sponsored by kind-hearted private individuals.
After documentation and profiling by relevant government agencies, the returnees will be reunited with their families.
The statement concluded with Federal Government reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and safe return of all Nigerians abroad, and expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Mission in South Africa, the sponsors, and all agencies involved.
