INTERNAL SECURITY: IGP DISU DEMANDS INTELLIGENCE-LED POLICING, ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CORRUPTION
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has directed Commissioners of Police and other strategic commanders across the country to prioritise intelligence-led policing, professionalism and the rebuilding of public trust.
Addressing senior officers at the Strategic Police Managers’ Conference in Abuja, the IGP said Nigeria’s evolving security challenges require smarter and more proactive policing strategies.
He stressed the need for greater use of intelligence gathering, technology-driven operations and stronger collaboration with other security agencies to tackle crime and emerging threats.
The police boss also urged commanders to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties.
Disu warned against corruption and other unethical practices, insisting that officers must remain committed to integrity and service to the public.
The Inspector-General reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to improving internal security through intelligence-driven operations, effective leadership and stronger community engagement.
