Security experts have called for stronger collaboration between the military and the media to counter the growing threat of misinformation, which they say continues to undermine Nigeria’s counter-insurgency efforts.
The call was made during a media engagement organised by the Directorate of Army Public Relations in Abuja. The event, themed “Media Integration as a Force Multiplier for Joint and Multi-Agency Operations Success,” focused on enhancing cooperation between security agencies and the media to support ongoing security operations.
Participants at the engagement emphasized the need for effective strategic communication and accurate information dissemination to shape public perception and strengthen national security efforts.
They noted that improved synergy between the military and media practitioners would help combat false narratives, boost public confidence, and contribute to the success of joint and multi-agency operations across the country.
