TCN BOOST WHEELING CAPACITY WITH NEW 150MVA TRANSFORMER AT AFAM IV SUBSTATION
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Port Harcourt Region has inaugurated a new 150 MVA 330/132/33kV power transformer at its Afam IV Transmission Substation in Rivers State.
In a statement, TCN says the addition of the new transformer has doubled the substation’s transformation capacity from 120MVA to 240MVA.
The project has significantly enhanced TCN’s transmission capacity to Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company’s (PHEDC) load center, enabling the DisCo to off-take more electricity for onward distribution to electricity consumers in Port Harcourt metropolis and its environs.
TCN notes that the project is part of the ongoing TCN-World Bank power projects aimed at enhancing the nation’s power supply.
