ANGLICAN CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION   SETS TO CELEBRATE 27TH ANNIVERSARY WITH WEEK-LONG SPIRITUAL, COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES

The Anglican Church of the Ascension, Basorun Estate, Akobo, Ibadan, will celebrate its 27th Church Anniversary with a week-long programme of spiritual revival, community outreach and thanksgiving services from October 5 to October 11, 2026.

The anniversary, themed “Wonders of His Goodness and Mercy” from Romans 8:28, is designed to commemorate nearly three decades of God’s faithfulness to the congregation and the wider community.

Activities will begin on Monday, October 5, with an Awareness and Evangelism programme at 5:00 p.m. This will be followed by a three-day Open-Air Revival from Tuesday, October 6 to Thursday, October 8 at Ascension Drive, starting at 5:00 p.m. daily.

As part of its community service initiatives, the church will organise a Medical Outreach at Alagbede on Friday, October 9, beginning at 4:00 p.m. A Trade Fair is also scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at Ascension Drive from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Founder’s Day Service will hold on Saturday, October 10, at 5:00 p.m., while the week-long celebration will culminate in a Harvest Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, October 11, at 10:00 a.m.

Ministers expected to feature during the anniversary include the Rev’d Tunde Akinloye, who will serve as Revivalist; the Ven. Adewale Sanda, Founder’s Day Minister; and the Ven. Prof. Yinka Gbotosho, Harvest Thanksgiving Minister.

The Vicar and Archdeacon of the church, the Ven. Adesanmi Adetule, will host the event, while the Rt. Rev’d Dr. T.B. Olayinka, Supervising Bishop, will serve as Chief Host.
