MINISTER OF INTERIOR LEADS FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DELEGATION TO COMMISERATE WITH GOVERNMENT OF NIGER STATE
Minister of Interior Olabunmi Tunji- Ojo has described the recent death of miners in Custody as deeply regrettable and unfortunate.
The Minister of Interior was speaking when he led a federal government delegation to commiserate with the Government of Niger State over the unfortunate incident.
The Minister revealed that the Niger State Commandant Of NSCDC has been suspended over the incident while investigations are ongoing to unravel the cause of the deaths.
The Minister commended the state government for the maturity exhibited in managing the situation and assured that measures will be put in place to avert a reoccurrence of such incident in the future.
Niger State Governor Umar Bago thanked the Minister for the visit and assured of the State Government’s
Cooperation towards unravelling what led to the deaths.
To forestall breakdown of Law and Order the Niger State Government has imposed a twelve hours curfew from Six PM to Six AM till further notice.
