I Haven’t Recovered”: Veteran Actor Pa Peter Fatomilola Praises Mr Macaroni’s Unmatched Generosity
Veteran Nollywood actor Pa Peter Fatomilola has publicly expressed deep gratitude to popular content creator and actor Debo Adedayo, widely known as Mr Macaroni, recounting a series of surprisingly generous gestures that left him overwhelmed.
Sharing his experience on a recent movie set in Oyo State, the veteran actor detailed how a chance encounter with the comedian turned into an unforgettable display of goodwill and respect for senior colleagues in the industry.
According to Pa Fatomilola, the duo first met on a set where both were working. After finishing his scenes and preparing to leave, Mr Macaroni insisted on walking him to his vehicle.
“He escorted me to my car and he insisted he was going to give me transport fare. I was shocked when Macaroni gave me ₦200,000. I asked him what for, and he insisted it was for transport fare,” Fatomilola recalled.
Comparing the sum to his actual fee for the job, the veteran noted: “I was shocked because even the person I came to work for that very day only gave me ₦50,000, while Mr Macaroni, who I never knew I was going to meet at the location, gave me ₦200,000. I was overwhelmed with joy.”
Three months after their initial meeting, Mr Macaroni contacted the veteran actor to feature in one of his own productions. Upon arriving at the set, Pa Fatomilola discovered he was cast for a single scene alongside legendary actor Pete Edochie.
However, the creator’s generosity extended beyond the set, reaching the veteran’s family members present at the shoot.
“When I was done, he called my son and he gave him ₦100,000. He called my grandson and he gave him too ₦50,000,” Fatomilola said. “That was when I became suspicious that what’s happening, because I was surprised by his kind gesture towards my children.”
Following the shoot, Mr Macaroni called the veteran aside to present his appearance fee for the single scene.
“To my surprise, he called me in and I was surprised and shocked when he gave me ₦1 million. I said, ‘For what?’ because it was just one scene I acted, and he told me, ‘Daddy, everything is for you.’ I almost wept. I am so grateful for what Mr Macaroni did to me”
Mr Macaroni has earned a reputation across the Nigerian entertainment industry for celebrating and financially supporting veteran actors, frequently casting iconic figures in his skits and feature productions while ensuring they are well-compensated.
Pa Fatomilola’s tribute adds to a growing list of veteran practitioners who have commended the young creator for restoring dignity and financial respect to elders in the Yoruba and broader Nollywood film sectors.
