ISLAMIC NEW YEAR: TINUBU URGES PATRIOTISM, GOOD CITIZENSHIP
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has felicitated with Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, 1st Muharram 1448AH, urging them to embrace patriotism, good citizenship and values that promote national unity.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described the Islamic New Year as a period for reflection on the enduring lessons of the Hijrah — the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Madina.
The President noted that the virtues of sacrifice, renewal, patience and faith in Allah’s divine plan remain essential for building a peaceful, just and prosperous nation.
He called on Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, to rededicate themselves to acts of kindness, tolerance, honesty and devotion to duty, stressing that such values are critical to national development, security and social cohesion.
President Tinubu also prayed for peace, prosperity and divine guidance for Nigeria, expressing hope that the new Hijri year would bring blessings to every household and continued progress to the nation.
