FRSC PATROL TEAM FOILS ‘ONE-CHANCE’ OPERATION, RECOVERS STOLEN PHONE IN IBADAN
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has arrested suspected members of a phone theft and “one-chance” syndicate operating along the Eleyele–Ojoo corridor in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the suspects were intercepted by an FRSC patrol team during a routine operation after officers noticed a motorcycle rider pursuing a Nissan Micra.
The statement said a female passenger subsequently raised an alarm, alleging that her mobile phone had been stolen while inside the vehicle.
Following the intervention of the FRSC personnel, the suspects were apprehended and the stolen phone recovered.
The case has since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Eleyele Division, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The Corps noted that the incident highlights the vital role of FRSC patrol teams in supporting security operations through vigilance, rapid response, and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.
