EKITI POLL: NIGERIAN AIR FORCE AIRLIFTS SENSITIVE ELECTORAL MATERIALS FOR GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION, BY-ELECTIONS

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully airlifted sensitive electoral materials for the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election and scheduled senatorial and federal constituency by-elections, reinforcing its support for democratic processes through aid to civil authority operations.
According to a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the operation was carried out between June 15 and 16 following a request from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The statement noted that the airlift ensured the secure and timely movement of electoral materials from Abuja to designated locations across the country, guaranteeing delivery within the stipulated timeline ahead of the June 20 elections.
It added that the exercise reflects the Nigerian Air Force’s continued commitment to supporting national institutions and strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process through efficient logistics and operational support.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, commended personnel involved in the operation for their professionalism and dedication.
He said the successful airlift underscores the Air Force’s unwavering commitment to supporting democratic institutions and national development, while reaffirming its readiness to continue providing timely support to civil authorities alongside maintaining operational readiness in defence of the nation.
