OYRLEA Cracks Down on Open Grazing, Impounds Six Cows in Ibadan
The Oyo State Rule of Law Enforcement Authority (OYRLEA) has intensified its enforcement against open grazing, impounding six cows during separate operations in Ibadan.
The enforcement team made the seizure during a routine monitoring exercise around Old Ife Road, Alakia, and Elebu Idi Ahun areas in Ido Local Government Area, where cattle were found grazing openly in violation of the state’s livestock control regulations. Five cows were impounded during the operation.
In a related development, OYRLEA officials responded to reports of cattle roaming along the Mokola Highway in Ibadan. Upon arrival, the team discovered three cows on the busy road, posing a threat to motorists and residents. One cow was immediately impounded, while the remaining two escaped.
The Authority described the operations as part of its sustained efforts to enforce livestock management laws and curb open grazing practices that threaten public safety and disrupt community peace.
OYRLEA reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining environmental order, safeguarding residents, and ensuring strict compliance with the laws of Oyo State.
