Eight State Commands and key strategic formations get new CP’s to boost intelligence-led policing.
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police to eight State Commands and key strategic formations nationwide to strengthen security operations and advance ongoing police reforms.
A statement by the Force says the newly deployed Commissioners have been posted to Abia, Plateau, Bayelsa, Cross River, Anambra, Edo, Jigawa and Delta State Commands. Others have been assigned to strategic formations, including the Force Intelligence Department, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Counter Terrorism Unit, Police Academy, Police Staff College and the Department of Training and Development.
The Inspector-General charged the senior officers to provide effective leadership, strengthen intelligence-led policing, uphold professionalism and deepen community engagement in line with the Force’s reform agenda.
The statement adds that the redeployment is designed to improve operational efficiency, strengthen institutional capacity and enhance service delivery across the Nigeria Police Force.
