FG RECEIVES 269 EVACUEES FROM SOUTH AFRICA

Federal Government has received another batch of Nigerians from South Africa.

An Air Peace flight carrying 269 returnees landed at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that they were received by the Director of African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Haruna Ali-Gombe, who delivered President Tinubu’s assurance of protection for Nigerians abroad.

Ambassador Ali Gombe extended President Tinubu’s greetings, affirming that the government remains committed to your safety.

The Ministry says this is the second evacuation flight, bringing the total to 335.

With South Africa’s June 30 deadline for undocumented foreigners, officials say the Federal Government will continue to engage South African authorities to ensure the safety of Nigerians living there, even as voluntary evacuation process is still on course and more flights are expected in the country in the next few days to evacuate all Nigerians that have been screened and cleared to voluntarily return to the country.
