REA SAPZ SIGNS MOU ON ENERGY IN AGRO-INDUSTRIAL ZONES

Vice President Kashim Shettima has applauded the collaboration among the African Development Bank, the Rural Electrification Agency and the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones programme aimed at boosting the provision of affordable energy in the centres across the country.

He stated this during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between Rural Electrification Agency and Special Agro Processing Zones for the provision of affordable energy in all the SAPZ sites across the country.

The agreement covers joint assessment, technical assistance, and energy deployment across the SAPZ sites under REA’s Desert To Power progamme.

State House Correspondent Abdurrahman Jibrila Reports that the Vice President was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Hassan Hadejia, said the Federal Government welcomes the partnership and will encourage more collaborations that will help unlock the country’s potentials across all sectors but particularly in the agricultural sector.

The targeted impact of the proposed partnership under the SAPZ programme is twenty-five thousand households, thirteen health facilities and directly impacting over one hundred and three thousand persons in each designated areas.
