Security Operatives Foil Fresh Attack on NIPSS, Kill One Suspect
Security operatives have successfully repelled another attempt by unidentified armed assailants to breach the security perimeter of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Plateau State.
The Institute disclosed in a statement that the attackers launched the assault late on Wednesday night but were met with a swift and coordinated response from security personnel, leading to a gun duel.
According to the statement, one of the assailants was killed during the exchange of fire, while others escaped with varying degrees of injuries. Authorities confirmed that there was no breach of the Institute’s security perimeter and that all participants, staff, residents and facilities remained safe.
NIPSS said security agencies have intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects while strengthening surveillance and other proactive security measures within and around the Institute. The management also commended security personnel for their professionalism and urged the public to disregard misinformation capable of causing unnecessary panic.
