SENATE INSISTS ON TRANSPARENCY IN OIL AND GAS SECTOR
The Senate at its investigation on crude oil theft and other alleged infractions has insisted that it would not allow agencies of government hide under the executive to avoid legislative scrutiny noting that President Bola Tinubu has overtime demonstrated leadership and commitment to reforms and accountability in the oil sector for improved performance.
It was in reaction to explanations by delegated staff of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited,to an investigative hearing, that management of the company were unavailable due to official engagements abroad.
The committee emphasized that every public institution should as provided by law, cooperate with the legislature to reposition sectors and grow the economy.
