Tackling Flooding: Hon. Ojudu calls for collective efforts

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South West), Hon. Moremi Ojudu, has called on Nigerians to embrace environmental responsibility, stressing that tackling flooding requires a collective effort from both government and citizens.

According to her, while the government remains committed to investing in resilient infrastructure, improved drainage systems, and effective emergency response, sustainable flood prevention also depends on the everyday actions of individuals and communities.

She urged citizens to dispose of waste responsibly, keep drainage channels free from refuse, and refrain from activities that obstruct natural waterways, noting that these simple actions can significantly reduce the risk of avoidable flooding.

Hon. Ojudu emphasized that protecting the environment is essential to safeguarding lives, preserving property, and building safer, more resilient communities.

Flooding is not only an environmental challenge it is a shared responsibility. A cleaner environment is a safer environment, and together, we can prevent avoidable flooding.
