Tinubu Meets Security Chiefs, Reviews National Security Situation

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday met with heads of the nation’s security agencies at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to assess the security situation across the country and review ongoing efforts to tackle emerging threats.

The high-level meeting was attended by the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, and other heads of security and intelligence agencies.

During the meeting, the security chiefs briefed the President on measures being implemented by their respective agencies to combat insecurity and maintain peace and stability across different parts of the country.

The agencies reported improvements in the nation’s security landscape and expressed confidence that ongoing operations were yielding positive results. They pledged to build on the current gains through sustained operations and enhanced coordination among security institutions.

The security chiefs also emphasised the importance of intelligence gathering and sharing in addressing security challenges, noting that intelligence would continue to play a critical role in safeguarding the country.

They further resolved to strengthen collaboration with neighbouring countries as part of regional efforts to combat terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other trans-border crimes, with the aim of achieving greater success in the fight against insecurity.
