Members of the Accord Party in Ekiti on Thursday reaffirmed their support for Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, pledging to mobilise massively for him across the state.
The members made the declaration at a rally in Ado-Ekiti attended by party leaders, women groups, youth supporters and grassroots members from across the state.
Speaking at the event, the state Chairman of the party, Philip Adeniji, said the rally was organised to demonstrate solidarity and readiness ahead of the 2027 polls.
Adeniji stated that party members were firmly behind Olawepo-Hashim and committed to supporting his presidential ambition.
“We gathered here today to adopt Olawepo-Hashim as our presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, and we are throwing our weight behind him.
“He remains our candidate, and nobody can change that. We will work for him, and we are confident he will emerge victorious,” he said.
Also speaking, the Southwest Coordinator for the Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement, Alhaji Olaniru Abass, described the rally as evidence of the candidate’s acceptance.
Abass said Olawepo-Hashim possesses the vision, experience and national appeal required to lead the country.
“Our gathering here today is to declare our support for Hashim as the party’s presidential candidate.
“He is the man the people are waiting for, and we are ready to support him to achieve his aspiration,” he said.
The state Women Leader of the party, Funmilayo Adeyeye, said members remained resolute in their support and would continue grassroots mobilisation for his campaign.
She urged the party’s national leadership to give full backing to his candidacy, describing him as the right choice for the party.
Similarly, a party leader in the state, Samuel Abiola, said the emergence of Olawepo-Hashim as the party’s candidate reflected confidence in his leadership and vision for a united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
The state campaign coordinator, Sunday Dada, said the mandate given to Olawepo-Hashim would not be negotiated or surrendered to external political interests.
Participants at the rally displayed banners and placards bearing various inscriptions in support of the candidate.
