2027 Election: AUG Takes Renewed Hope Message to Grassroots, Highlights Tinubu Administration’s Achievements

2027 Election: AUG Takes Renewed Hope Message to Grassroots, Highlights Tinubu Administration’s Achievements

The Asiwaju United Group, AUG, Southwest Nigeria, has unveiled a structured door-to-door mobilisation model designed to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to communities across the Southwest ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative was launched at Cocoa House, Dugbe, Ibadan, with coordinators from Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Lagos and Osun States, alongside representatives of trade, artisan, professional and community groups.

Speaking at the event, National Vice Chairman and Southwest Coordinator of AUG, Dr. AbdulAzeez Olatunde, said the initiative is aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement by providing members with information on government policies, programmes and what the group identifies as key achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration since 2023.

According to the group, the approach goes beyond conventional political mobilisation by equipping grassroots representatives with information and explanatory materials to engage communities on major national issues.

Among the areas highlighted by AUG are economic reforms, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, energy, housing, youth empowerment and social investment.

The group pointed to major road projects and other infrastructure interventions as part of what it describes as the administration’s drive to improve connectivity, stimulate economic activity and support national development.

In education, AUG highlighted the expansion of access to tertiary education financing through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, while healthcare interventions, agricultural programmes and youth-focused initiatives were also presented as components of the administration’s development agenda.

The group also said its newly produced campaign materials contain a compilation of what it describes as 50 major achievements of the Tinubu administration since 2023, to help members explain government policies and programmes at the grassroots.

Also speaking, Alhaji Remi Sodiq, Chairman of the five major chairmen in Ibadan Town, urged members to remain committed to the party and work for its success from the top to the grassroots. He said sustained support for the party would enable citizens to continue to benefit from democratic dividends and contribute to further development in Oyo State and Nigeria. He encouraged members to take the party’s message to their various communities and support the administration’s development agenda through constructive grassroots engagement.

The group also presented video materials addressing fuel subsidy removal, the rationale behind the reform and the administration’s stated efforts to channel resources into infrastructure and other areas of national development.

Dr. Olatunde said the Scientific Door-to-Door Networking Model will provide a direct platform for taking these messages to households, communities and wards, while encouraging citizens to engage with political issues and government policies.

He said the model will cover the 352 wards and 33 Local Government Areas of Oyo State and extend across the six Southwest states.

The initiative, organised on behalf of AUG National Chairman, Alhaji Hamisu Kaura, is expected by the group to strengthen grassroots communication and mobilisation as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections intensify.

For AUG, the objective is to take the Renewed Hope message beyond political gatherings and into neighbourhoods, markets, professional associations, artisan communities and households, using direct engagement to explain the administration’s policies, programmes and reported achievements.
