POLICE FOIL DEADLY IED ATTACK IN ZAMFARA
The Zamfara State Police Command has foiled a planned attack after successfully detecting and destroying an Improvised Explosive Device, planted along the Kunchin Kalgo axis in Tsafe Local Government Area.

A statement by the force says the explosive was discovered on Friday following credible intelligence obtained through community engagement efforts. Operatives of the Violence Crime Response Unit, working with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, swiftly responded and neutralised the threat.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the device was strategically planted by suspected bandits to cause mass casualties among commuters and other road users.
The Command commended residents for providing timely information and assured the public that efforts are underway to track down and prosecute those responsible.
