DIGITAL INNOVATION: UBEC TRAINS 100 OFFICERS TO IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) has inaugurated 100 Digital Champions as part of efforts to accelerate digital transformation and improve service delivery in the administration of basic education across Nigeria.

The initiative, which aligns with the growing push for digital innovation in public service, brings together participants drawn from UBEC’s state and zonal offices nationwide.

Speaking at the inauguration, UBEC Executive Secretary, Aisha Garba, said the programme is designed to foster a culture of innovation and promote the adoption of technology-driven solutions within the Commission.

She explained that the Digital Champions would serve as change agents, helping to improve operational efficiency, transparency and evidence-based decision-making in the management of basic education programmes.

Garba noted that the initiative underscores UBEC’s commitment to leveraging digital tools to enhance service delivery and strengthen educational outcomes across the country.

The participants are expected to undergo intensive training and acquire relevant digital competencies that will support the Commission’s ongoing reforms and modernization efforts.

The programme is also aimed at building a workforce capable of driving sustainable digital transformation in the basic education sector.
