INSECURITY: HOUSE MINORITY CAUCUS DEMANDS SECURITY OVERHAUL, CONDEMNS KILLING OF RETIRED GENERAL RABE

The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has condemned the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar while in terrorist captivity in Katsina State, describing it as a tragic reflection of the worsening security situation in the country.

The lawmakers also called for urgent and collective action to end the rising wave of abductions and banditry across Nigeria.

Addressing National Assembly correspondents on the state of the nation, the Minority Caucus urged a comprehensive overhaul of the national security architecture.

They further called for intensified military operations to secure the release of abducted schoolchildren and their teachers in Oyo State.

The caucus also faulted the recent court ruling ordering the deregistration of some political parties, insisting that national security concerns should take priority over political disputes at this time.

They maintained that governance efforts must be refocused on restoring safety, protecting lives, and ensuring the immediate rescue of kidnapped victims across affected states.
