DRUG WAR: NDLEA DISMANTLES CRIMINAL ASSET NETWORKS
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has auctioned properties and assets forfeited by convicted drug traffickers as part of efforts to deny criminal networks the proceeds of illicit activities.
The exercise, conducted in Abuja, involved properties located in Lagos, Kano, Akure and Ogun States, which were either linked to drug trafficking operations or owned by individuals convicted of drug-related offences.
The auction was carried out during a public bid opening exercise supervised by relevant regulatory agencies and stakeholders in compliance with legal procedures governing forfeited assets.
The NDLEA said the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s policy of ensuring that criminal organizations and individuals do not benefit from proceeds of unlawful activities.
Officials of the agency reaffirmed their commitment to sustained enforcement actions against drug traffickers, including the dismantling of criminal networks and seizure of illicit assets across the country.
They added that the agency would continue to uphold the rule of law while intensifying its campaign against drug-related crimes nationwide.
