EKITI APC PRIMARY: COURT REJECTS APPLICATION, AWARDS ₦6M COSTS AGAINST APPLICANT
The Court of Appeal in Abuja has dismissed an application filed by an aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Ekiti State, describing the move as an attempt to delay proceedings.
The applicant, Olajumoke Olawunmi, approached the appellate court over her alleged disqualification from the APC governorship primary.
During the proceedings, the appeal had already progressed significantly before the appellant sought to change her legal representation midway through the case.
The Court of Appeal rejected the application, holding that it lacked merit and could not be used to frustrate judicial proceedings, especially as judgment in the substantive appeal is expected later this week.
The three-member panel led by Justice Okon Abang dismissed the application and awarded costs of ₦2 million each against the appellant in favour of the three respondents.
