FCT POLICE CRACK DOWN ON VANDALS, ILLEGAL NUMBER PLATE SYNDICATE
The FCT Police Command has intensified its crackdown on infrastructure vandals, arresting five suspects and recovering stolen public assets, including drainage covers, solar street lights, armoured power cables and communication cables during operations across several parts of Abuja.
Police say the recovered items have been handed over to the FCT Administration for immediate reinstallation.
The Command also dismantled an illegal diplomatic and government number plate syndicate, confiscating several unauthorized number plates and arresting suspects.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, described vandalism as a threat to public safety and critical infrastructure, warning that all those involved in the criminal network—including buyers of stolen public assets—will be tracked down and prosecuted.
He urged residents to continue supporting the police with credible information to enhance security across the FCT.
