INEC Begins PVC Distribution Across 351 Registration Areas
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Oyo State, begins the distribution and collection of newly printed Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, across the state’s 351 Registration Areas ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The exercise, involving the first batch of 77,015 PVCs, runs from Friday, October 9 to Thursday, October 15, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. daily, including weekends.
In a statement, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Adeniran Rahmon Tella, says the exercise targets newly registered voters, those who lost or damaged their PVCs, and voters who requested transfers of their polling units.
INEC also says unclaimed PVCs from the 2023 general elections will be available for collection, while the distribution will subsequently continue at the Commission’s 33 Local Government Area offices.
The Commission advises eligible voters to take advantage of the exercise and disregard information suggesting that the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, is still ongoing, as it ended on July 26, 2026.
