KOGI PROCURES ARMOURED PERSONNEL CARRIERS, VOWS NO RETREAT AGAINST CRIMINALS

Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity, declaring that no part of the state will be surrendered to bandits, kidnappers, or other criminal elements.

The governor made the declaration while inspecting newly procured Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs), operational vehicles and other security equipment at the Government House in Lokoja.

Governor Ododo said the protection of lives and property remains a top priority of his administration, stressing that security is the foundation upon which sustainable development can thrive.

He disclosed that following recent security briefings with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his administration has renewed its determination to confront criminal elements and sustain peace across the state.

The governor noted that he had personally visited affected communities, particularly Iluke, to assess the security situation firsthand, rather than relying solely on reports.

According to him, the state government has commenced the deployment of specialised security equipment, including armoured protective vehicles, to support security agencies in combating emerging threats.

Governor Ododo also ruled out any form of negotiation with criminal groups, insisting that his administration would not enter into deals with bandits.

He reiterated his resolve to reclaim all parts of Kogi State from criminal elements and ensure lasting peace and security for residents.
