Nigeria Adopts Digital Platform to Transform Livestock Products Market
Nigeria is accelerating the digital transformation of its livestock sector, leveraging technology to connect farmers directly with consumers through trusted, farm-to-table meat products
The digital platform, developed by ABIS Group, is an integrated marketplace and logistics ecosystem designed to modernise Nigeria’s protein supply chain by addressing long-standing inefficiencies in the meat, poultry and seafood markets.
Representing the Minister of Livestock Development at the launch, officials said Nigeria’s protein demand is projected to double by 2030, making digital innovation essential for boosting food security, creating jobs and positioning the country as a regional protein export hub.
Stakeholders hailed the initiative as a major boost for Nigeria’s red meat industry, noting that it will reduce post-harvest losses, improve product traceability and strengthen consumer confidence.
