One Body Recovered From The ALAKIJA Building Collapse

 

 

One adult male has been recovered while several other victims rescued with varying degrees of injuries

 

following the collapse of a storey building off Old Ojo Road, near Alakija Bus Stop, along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway in Satellite Town, Lagos.

Additional persons, including shop owners who had resumed business activities at the complex, may still be trapped beneath the debris.

 

Rescue operations are still ongoing, with responders working through the rubble to locate and extricate anyone who may still be trapped. Those rescued have been handed over to medical personnel for necessary treatment.

Heavy-duty equipment, including an excavator, has been deployed to support access and debris removal as efforts continue.

 

Members of the public have been advised to remain calm, stay away from the incident scene, and allow rescue teams unrestricted access to carry out life-saving operations.
