OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA TROOPS NEUTRALISE TERRORISTS, RECOVER AMMUNITION IN ZAMFARA, KADUNA
Troops of Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised several terrorists and intercepted a large cache of ammunition in separate operations across Zamfara and Kaduna States.
According to the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the operations were conducted on September 2, 2026.
He said troops of Sector 2 ambushed terrorists at Kwanar Jolof in Shinkafi and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, neutralising scores of them.
The troops recovered an RPG launcher, an RPG bomb, an AK-47 rifle, six magazines, 106 rounds of ammunition and a motorcycle.
Danja added that in Kaduna State, troops intercepted a vehicle along the Saulawa–Zaria Road and neutralised a passenger who attempted to evade inspection.
A search of his bag uncovered 793 rounds of ammunition concealed in gari.
He said the vehicle and its driver are in military custody for further investigation, as troops continue efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and restore peace across the Joint Operations Area.
