Sokoto Police arrest Six over Housebreaking and theft.

The Sokoto State Police Command has in separate intelligence led operations arrested Six suspected Members of Two criminal syndicates involved in housebreaking, theft and receiving stolen property.

The Command’s Strike Force Operatives carried out the operations following complaints of burglary and Motorcycle theft in parts of Sokoto Metropolis.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the Command DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, in a statement says, three suspects were arrested in connection with a burglary at Rumbukawa Area where hoodlums allegedly broke into a Residence and carted away a Sewing Machine, Thirteen assorted Mobile Phones, a power Bank and Cash valued at more than Fifty Thousand Naira.

He explains that the suspects were tracked through one of the stolen items allegedly being offered for sale at the Sokoto Central Market, leading to the recovery of some of the stolen Phones and the Sewing Machine.

In a related operation, the Strike Force arrested Three suspected Members of a Motorcycle theft syndicate following the reported theft of Three Motorcycles from Alkammawa Area.

The suspects allegedly confessed to the crime and identified other Members of the syndicate believed to have facilitated the disposal of the stolen Motorcycles.

Two of the motorcycles have been recovered, while efforts are ongoing to recover the third and arrest other fleeing suspects.

Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, CP Hassan Hayatu Shaffa, commended the Strike Force for what he described as professionalism and intelligence-driven policing, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to combating crime and bringing all perpetrators to justice.

He urged Residents to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible information to Security Agencies to support efforts at safeguarding lives and property across the State.
