NAVY FOILS ILLEGAL REFINING OPERATION, RECOVERS 120,000 LITRES OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS
The Nigerian Navy has thwarted attempts to revive illegal refining activities in Rivers State following a successful anti-crude oil theft operation conducted by personnel of NNS PATHFINDER under Operation Delta Sentinel.
The operation, carried out at Oseokishikpa in Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, was based on credible intelligence indicating renewed illegal refining activities in the area.

According to the Navy, operatives discovered two illegal refining sites containing eight dugout pits and reservoirs loaded with about 15,000 litres of suspected stolen crude oil and 105,000 litres of illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
The service said the illegal facilities and products were handled in line with established procedures.
The Nigerian Navy reaffirmed its commitment to combating crude oil theft, protecting critical national assets and supporting efforts to safeguard the nation’s economy from the activities of oil thieves and economic saboteurs.
