ADC REJECTS DEREGISTRATION RULING, VOWS TO CHALLENGE JUDGMENT
The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has urged members, supporters and candidates of the party to remain steadfast following the Federal High Court judgment ordering the deregistration of the party and four others.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, after receiving a delegation of ADC candidates in Abuja, the former Senate President described the ruling as unacceptable and expressed confidence that it would be overturned through the judicial process.
Mark argued that the Court of Appeal had earlier granted a stay of proceedings in the matter and fixed October 27, 2027, for further hearing, raising concerns over the validity of a judgment delivered despite what he described as a subsisting appellate order.
He maintained that the party remains committed to pursuing all legal avenues to challenge the ruling and protect its political rights.
The ADC chairman assured party faithful that the development would not derail preparations for future elections, including the 2027 general elections.
He called on members nationwide to remain calm, law-abiding and focused on the party’s mission, expressing optimism that justice would ultimately prevail.
