APC LEADERS CALL FOR DIASPORA UNITY, STRONGER SUPPORT FOR TINUBU’S ADMINISTRATION

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, have called for unity among APC members in the diaspora to strengthen support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
They made the call during a Strategic Global Diaspora Conference organised by the Directorate of Diaspora and Global Affairs of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors.

Prof. Yilwatda stressed the need for unity among diaspora communities, improved communication of government reforms and achievements, and the establishment of structured media teams to counter misinformation while promoting Nigeria’s image globally.
He also highlighted the importance of diaspora involvement in voter education, investment mobilisation, and political engagement ahead of future elections.
Governor Uzodinma emphasized diaspora unity and grassroots mobilisation in support of President Tinubu’s administration, noting its importance for electoral success in 2027.
Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Deputy Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, commended Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa for convening the meeting and described diaspora participation as critical to national development and political mobilisation.
Dr. Bernard Doro, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, called for stronger linkage between diaspora capacity and grassroots governance, as well as enhanced media engagement to showcase government achievements.
The Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, Chief Tayo Ayinde, also highlighted key economic reforms, including Shell’s return to Nigeria, infrastructure development, and student loan initiatives under NELFund.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, pledged continued engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora to improve communication and policy dissemination.
According to organisers, the virtual conference attracted over 600 participants from Africa, Europe, North America, Canada, and Australia.
