BIANCA OJUKWU ARRIVES ANGOLA AHEAD OF 21ST AU SUMMIT
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, has arrived in Luanda, Angola, ahead of the 21st Extraordinary Session of the African Union Assembly of Heads of State and Government.
The summit, scheduled to hold from August 29 to 30, will focus on the theme: “Strengthening Mechanisms for Conflict Prevention and Resolution in Africa.”
Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu was received at the Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto International Airport by Angolan government officials and members of the Nigerian Mission in Angola.
According to a statement issued by her Media Aide, Magnus Eze, Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to arrive in Luanda on Friday to represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the high-level continental gathering.
The statement noted that, beyond participating in summit activities, the Foreign Affairs Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with key officials and engage with members of the Nigerian community resident in Angola.
The summit is expected to bring together African leaders to deliberate on strategies for strengthening peace, security and conflict resolution mechanisms across the continent.
