FORMER DIRECTOR OF DEFENCE INFORMATION, MAJOR GENERAL RABE ABUBAKAR (RTD) DIES IN BANDITS’ CAPTIVITY
The Katsina State Government has announced the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who had been held captive by bandits for several weeks.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasiru Mu’azu, the government said the retired military officer died from complications arising from diabetes and hypertension.
The statement described his abduction and death as a painful loss to his family, Katsina State and the nation at large.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda extended his condolences to the family of the late General and all Nigerians, describing the incident as a dark moment that underscores the need for intensified efforts to combat insecurity.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to working with the Federal Government and security agencies to bring perpetrators to justice and eliminate banditry across the state.
