FRSC Boss Declares War on Patrol Misconduct, Orders Nationwide Crackdown
The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has issued a nationwide directive aimed at eliminating unprofessional conduct, extortion, abuse of authority and other forms of misconduct by personnel during patrol operations.
The directive, which takes immediate effect, is part of efforts to strengthen public confidence in the Corps and ensure that all FRSC operations reflect the highest standards of professionalism, transparency and accountability.
According to a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the Corps Marshal reaffirmed that integrity, discipline and respect for human dignity remain the foundation of the agency’s operational philosophy.
Under the new directive, Commanding Officers across the country have been instructed to intensify supervision of patrol teams and ensure strict adherence to ethical standards while on duty.
The order also mandates regular ethical reorientation programmes, including lectures, parade sessions and pre-patrol briefings, to reinforce professionalism among officers and men of the Corps.
In addition, all patrol teams are expected to comply fully with the provisions of the FRSC Establishment Act, operational guidelines and established Standard Operating Procedures.
The Corps Marshal stressed that any act capable of undermining the integrity and reputation of the agency would not be tolerated, as the FRSC remains committed to delivering efficient and people-centred services while promoting safety on Nigerian roads.
