FRSC Corps Marshal Launches Nationwide Crackdown on Patrol Misconduct

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has launched a nationwide campaign to curb unprofessional conduct, indiscipline, extortion, abuse of authority and other forms of misconduct by personnel during patrol operations across the country.

The directive, which takes immediate effect, is aimed at reinforcing professionalism, transparency and accountability within the Corps while restoring and strengthening public confidence in its operations.

In a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the Corps Marshal emphasized that integrity, discipline and respect for human dignity remain the cornerstone of the FRSC’s operational philosophy.

According to the statement, the new directive is part of ongoing efforts by the Corps leadership to ensure that all patrol activities are conducted in line with global best practices and the agency’s core values.

As part of the measures, all Commanding Officers nationwide have been directed to intensify supervision of patrol teams and strengthen ethical reorientation programmes through regular lectures, parade sessions and pre-patrol briefings.

The officers are also expected to ensure strict compliance with the provisions of the FRSC Establishment Act, operational guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures in the discharge of their duties.

The Corps Marshal reiterated the FRSC’s commitment to professionalism and warned that any form of misconduct capable of tarnishing the image of the Corps would not be tolerated.

The statement by Ohaeri noted that the directive underscores the determination of the FRSC leadership to build a more disciplined, accountable and service-oriented organisation dedicated to ensuring safety on Nigerian roads.
