NCAA sanctions saudi airlines ₦6 million over consumer protection infractions

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, has sanctioned Saudi Airlines to the tune of six million naira for consumer protection-related infractions.

According to the Authority, the sanction became necessary after it supported the airline to avert a breakdown of law and order at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja a couple of months ago, and after granting the airline an extended period to resolve several pending issues and comply with the Authority’s determinations.

The NCAA says the enforcement action is to ensure compliance with Part 19 of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023. It adds that it is also hoped that the airline will improve, exponentially, its operations in Nigeria.

The NCAA further reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting Saudi Airlines, and every other airline, to operate at optimal capacity while complying fully with Nigerian regulations.
