FG MOVES TO EMPOWER WOMEN IN AGRICULTURE THROUGH NEW FINANCING PARTNERSHIP
The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs has entered into a partnership with the Bank of Agriculture aimed at strengthening the financial capacity of women engaged in the agricultural value chain.
The initiative is designed to support over 40 million women in agriculture by improving access to soft loans, farm inputs, and agricultural land, with the goal of boosting productivity and transitioning from subsistence to mechanised farming.
The Minister of Women Affairs reaffirmed the commitment during a meeting with the Managing Director of the Bank of Agriculture and his team in Abuja.
She noted that empowering women in agriculture remains critical to achieving Nigeria’s one trillion-dollar economic ambition and strengthening national food security.
When fully implemented, the partnership is expected to enhance agro-processing, improve food and family nutrition, create economic opportunities, and contribute significantly to national development.
