DIGITAL INFRASTRUCTURE: EDUCATION MINISTER COMMISSIONS DIGITAL E-LIBRARY IN FGC KANO

An upgraded digital e-library has been commissioned at the Federal Government College, Kano, providing students with a modern learning facility powered by solar energy and equipped with nearly eighty computer workstations. The facility is part of efforts to strengthen digital literacy and prepare students for a technology-driven future.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, commissioned the facility during an inspection tour of education projects across Kano State.
The minister also inspected the nearly completed Bilingual School in Ungogo, designed to integrate Almajiri and other vulnerable children into formal education. The school is expected to commence academic activities in September 2026.

Alausa reaffirmed that there would be no reversal of the proposed land swap initiative at Federal Government College Kano, saying the partnership would provide resources for improved classrooms, hostels and other critical infrastructure in the college.
The inspection tour also highlighted innovation among students, with an artificial intelligence-powered school management application developed by a student attracting the minister’s attention and consideration for further support and development.
