FAAN RESOLVES AIRPORT E-HAILING DISPUTE, APOLOGISES TO PASSENGERS

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced the resolution of operational issues affecting e-hailing services at airports under its management and apologised to passengers for the inconvenience caused.

In a statement issued by the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, FAAN explained that the challenges stemmed from efforts to establish a safe, orderly and sustainable framework for commercial transport and e-hailing operations within airport environments.

According to Henry Agbebire, the Authority introduced the Airport Car Hire Rank Management System (ACHRAMS) to regulate airport taxi services, improve accountability and address concerns such as passenger solicitation, touting and indiscriminate pick-ups.

He clarified that ACHRAMS is not an e-hailing platform and was never designed to compete with existing mobility service providers.

The FAAN spokesperson disclosed that the Authority has reached an agreeable operational framework with one of the transport companies involved, paving the way for the immediate resumption of its services at FAAN-managed airports.

He added that discussions with other e-hailing operators are ongoing and expressed optimism that all outstanding issues would be resolved in the near future.

FAAN thanked passengers for their patience and understanding during the period, assuring them that safety, security, convenience and freedom of choice remain at the core of its operational decisions.
