FG Moves to Strengthen Basic Education, Inaugurates Monitoring Committee

The Federal Government has intensified efforts to improve access to quality and technology-driven education with the inauguration of a committee to monitor key basic education programmes across the country.

Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, inaugurated the committee to oversee the implementation of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Smart Schools, Alternative Schools and Bilingual Schools initiatives nationwide.

According to the minister, the committee will track the progress of basic education projects, identify implementation gaps and recommend practical solutions to ensure that schools achieve their objectives and deliver improved learning outcomes, particularly for children in underserved communities.

The committee is expected to work closely with Universal Basic Education Commission, state governments and other stakeholders to assess project implementation, monitor compliance and provide periodic reports aimed at strengthening the delivery of basic education across the country.
