Ibadan Youths Endorse ‘Lanky2027’ Okesooto as Preferred Candidate for Ibadan South-West/North-West House Seat

Youths in Ibadan South-West/North-West Federal Constituency have adopted Olanrewaju Okesooto, popularly known as “Lanky2027 The Bridge Builder,” as their preferred candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives election on the platform of the Labour Party.

The endorsement was made on Saturday, August 22, 2026, during the Ibadan Baptist Conference after an interactive session with the aspirant, where issues of governance, youth empowerment, and citizen participation dominated discussions.

Addressing the gathering, Okesooto said effective representation must bridge the gap between government and the people, and move beyond campaign promises to deliver practical opportunities.

He stressed the need to equip young people with digital skills, infrastructure, and opportunities to thrive in a technology-driven economy.

“The future belongs to young people who are prepared. We must create an enabling environment where youths can discover, develop and maximise their potential,” Okesooto told the audience.

He also highlighted the importance of inclusive development across sectors including agriculture, women empowerment, and job creation for men, saying sustainable progress must carry every segment of society along.

Following the interaction, the youths formally declared their support for Okesooto, describing him as a leader who understands their aspirations and can connect them to government action.

The endorsement, according to participants, reflects a growing demand for responsive representation, accountability, and inclusive leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“We want a representative that will build bridges between communities, generations and government. That is why we are choosing Lanky2027,” one of the youth leaders stated at the event.

The development adds momentum to early politicking in Oyo State, with young voters increasingly demanding leadership focused on opportunity and results.

Running under the campaign slogan “Lanky2027 The Bridge Builder,” Okesooto has positioned his aspiration around people-centered representation and stronger ties between constituents and government.

Political observers note that youth mobilization is expected to play a decisive role in the Ibadan South-West/North-West race, as voters look for alternatives to the status quo.
