TROOPS RESCUE NINE KIDNAP VICTIMS, ARREST SUSPECTED TERRORIST IN KATSINA

Troops of the Joint Task Force North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued nine kidnapped victims, recovered 56 rustled livestock and arrested a suspected terrorist during separate operations in Katsina State.
According to a statement by the Army’s Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Aliyu Danjuma, troops of Sector Two carried out the rescue operation while on patrol in Faskari Local Government Area.
The statement disclosed that the rescued victims comprised three women, four men and two children.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victims were abducted by terrorists on July 9 along the Tsafe-Kuchere Road in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The military said the victims are currently in safe custody and undergoing necessary procedures before being reunited with their families.
In another operation, troops acting on credible intelligence foiled an attempt by terrorists to rustle livestock in Bakori Local Government Area.
Following a gun battle, the terrorists were forced to flee, abandoning 56 rustled animals made up of four cattle and 52 sheep, which were subsequently recovered by the troops.
Similarly, troops arrested a suspected terrorist during routine operational activities in Dan Musa Local Government Area of the state.
Commending the troops for their professionalism and commitment, the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, reaffirmed the resolve of the military to sustain intelligence-driven operations against terrorism and other criminal activities across the region.
He assured residents that the Joint Task Force would continue to intensify efforts to restore peace and security throughout the North-West.
